LG has announced that it has sold more than 1 million units of its flagship device, Optimus G
smartphone globally since its launch in September last year. The claim
comes almost four months after the South Korean handset maker, LG unveiled two premium smartphones – Optimus G and the Optimus Vu2.
LG has had a busy 2012 year as it expanded its Optmius L line-up globally with launch of some major handsets latest being the Optimus L9.
The company’s Q3 results have also shown positive signs and have been
helpful in regaining its foothold in global smartphone market. In the
third quarter, LG sold 7 million smartphones globally, compared to its previous high of 6.2 million. Not long ago, LG announced their L-series sales touching 10 million mark globally.
However, Indian market is yet to see the launch of the flagship device – Optimus G that is powered by Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and boasts a large 4.7-inch Corning Gorilla Glass display.
LG will be announcing their fourth quarter earnings on Jan 30, 2013.
